Something I made a month or more ago, but that when I look at it brings me a sense of calm. I hope it does something similar for anyone else that looks upon this as well :-)
(sort of using tumblr again, but also not really)

chromic fiend
modeled in cinema, rendered in cinema
smoke/steam was made through cinema’s particle system

i never really got this one to look right
modeled through cinema, rendered through cinema
Jan 20
buddha mountain coils
stone and coils modeled in zbrush rendered through cinema’s standard render engine

the purple/pink was made through a particle fluid simulation via x-particles inside of a transparent sphere set to a static mesh with an XP collider tag set to it
the cloth was an experiment with the cloth belt tag and the gold bits were a reused mesh (the misshapen egg)
rendered through vray
Jan 20
objects were modeled in cinema, the transparent convolutions were made in zbrush, rendered with vray
Jan 20
a misshapen egg on a pillow
modeled in zbrush (just the gold egg) and rendered with vray
Jan 20
modeled in zbrush, rendered with vray

my favorite image
modeled in zbrush and finalized in cinema, rendered with vray

abstraction of intestines and stomach acid
the convolutions were made in zbrush and then dropped into cinema, rendered through vray

i think this is the most beautiful image i’ve ever made
look at all the nice details in the surface of this rocky egg! the scuffs on the floor! the depth of field (with a simulated .4 aperture!!)
the egg was sculpted in zbrush and then transferred to cinema where i applied the textures and built a simple studio.
illumination and rendering was done through vray (my favorite render)

the same skull from the previous post, with a slight tweak to the brow
all of this was modeled and rendered through cinema
The green/odd looking geometric bits is ivy which was generated through the ivy grower plugin
Jan 20
this was my first attempt at modeling something specific in cinema. the skull was made in cinema 4d, the coils were done inside of zrbush. something weird happened to the geometry in the mesh of the coils from transferring it back and forth b/w zbrush and cinema which resulted in that insane psychedelic pattern which i think is like super cool.
i can’t remember if this was rendered in vray or not, it looks like it probably was.

the picture in the frame is a drawing that @fuzzfilly did a little bit ago, it was laying on our coffee table (we roommates) and i saw it and thought, “I think I could make this on my computer.”
And so I did, this is the only collab we’ve done in a minute and I had a lot of fun making this.
The character was modeled in cinema4d and rendered through vray
